The collection consists of several pages of a Chinese newspaper published February 3, 1940 in Canton, China (Guangzhou). At the time of publication, Canton was controlled by the Japanese army.
Johns Hopkins University "May 1968" protests collection
The volatile period of civil unrest in France during May 1968 was punctuated by demonstrations and massive general strikes as well as the occupation of universities and factories across France. At the height of its fervor, it virtually brought the entire advanced capitalist economy of France to a dramatic halt. This artificially-created collection contains posters, protest leaflets, tracts, and photographs from these student protests in May 1968.
Villa Spelman records
The Johns Hopkins Center for Italian Studies at Villa Spelman was established in the early 1970s in accordance with the bequest of Leolyn and Timothy Mather Spelman. The property was sold by the university in September 2008. This collection consists of records of the Villa Spelman from 1961 to 2009; the bulk of the material dates from 1980 to 2000.
